Benefits of "No Excuses" Strategy Execution
What's it "Worth"?

Collaborate Anywhere
Because V2R is a web based application remote associates that have access to the internet can collaborate from anywhere. Using on-line meeting software, users can simultaneously view the summarized status of projects or associate goals in V2R. Any interactive updates made by remote users are immediately shared with all associates participating in the on-line meeting.

Best Practice Process
Vision2Reality was formed to expand the Strategy Execution body of knowledge and to help organizations execute their strategic plans in a simpler, more effective and timely manner. Vision2Reality developed the "No Excuses" process and powerful V2R software application over the last 12 years for the sole purpose of helping organizations close their Strategy Execution Gap. The "No Excuses" process did not evolve from some other business application.

Cascade Strategy
A primary key to successful strategy execution is the effective communication of an organization's strategy and its translation into lower level group tactics and associate level goals. The V2R application automatically cascades company level strategy and group level tactics to the responsible associates across an organization. Any revisions to an organization's strategy or tactics are automatically cascaded to the proper associates as well.

Clarify Goals
Successful strategy execution also depends on clearly defined goals. The V2R application clarifies each assigned goal through definition of its description, goal set, category, weight, milestones, rating table and stakeholders. Defining these key parameters when goals are assigned enables associates to clearly understand their individual responsibilities on an ongoing basis.

Failure to clarify goals up front results in a wrestling match during the assessment process whenever the boss and associate fail to agree on a fair performance rating. The same amount or more energy will be expended during this year-end wrestling match, as it would have taken to properly define all goal parameters in the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, clarifying goal parameters at the end of the year during a performance assessment provided no guidance to the associate during the year in support of executing the organization's strategy.

Reciprocal Accountability
Vision2Reality developed the BasPac organization structure that reciprocally aligns all individual associates throughout an organization. The BasPac view aligns an associate's stakeholders at the cross hairs of their Bas (Boss, Associate, Staff) hierarchy and their Pac (Provider, Associate, Customer) value chain. The BasPac organization structure is simple, visual and associate centric making it easy for all associates to see exactly how they fit into their organization.

No Excuses Culture
The culture of any organization is established by the behavior of the critical mass of its population. Unfortunately, a prevailing culture that exists in most organizations is a lack of accountability. Poorly defined goals are informally assigned making accountability impossible. In the absence of valid due dates, the relative priority of assigned tasks is left to the whim of each associate. Due dates are regularly missed without accountability or consequences.

"No Excuses" Strategy Execution attacks these problems directly by establishing associate level accountability for the effective and timely execution of all assigned tasks. Slowly the population of an organization shifts to a "No Excuses" culture until its critical mass establishes the new norm.

Continuous Improvement
The principles behind lean continuous improvement are sound. In today's world of global competition, all organizations must achieve continuous improvement in order to survive.

Driving continuous improvement in all organizations by definition requires ongoing change. Existing business processes must be documented and executed. The existing processes must be analyzed using lean principles leading to the development of more efficient processes. These new more efficient process must then be documented and executed at which time the process starts over again.

"No Excuses" Strategy Execution helps an organization drive lean continuous improvement by holding individual associates accountable for embracing the existing processes and work on the lean projects launched to drive ongoing improvement.

Competitive Advantage
Achieving a sustainable advantage is also becoming more of a challenge in today's world of global competition. Patent laws still offer protection of intellectual property. However, advanced computer based design technologies allow competitors to copy and modify products and processes at light speed that get around existing patents. As product commoditization occurs more rapidly, achieving a sustainable competitive advantage based solely on products and/or processes becomes more challenging.

Strategy Execution remains a huge challenge for essentially all organizations. Aligning all associates to execute their organization's ever-evolving strategies in a more effective and timely fashion results in a huge competitive advantage. Because "No Excuses" Strategy Execution is very difficult for organizations to achieve, it is also very difficult for competitors to replicate, resulting in a sustainable competitive advantage.
